Yesterday's Mail On Sunday newspaper contained a free David Bowie CD. iSELECTBOWIE is a collection of Bowie's own choices of the 12 greatest tracks from his career, which are as follows:
LIFE ON MARS
SWEET THING/CANDIDATE/SWEET THING (reprise)
THE BEWLAY BROTHERS
LADY GRINNING SOUL
WIN
SOME ARE
TEENAGE WILDLIFE
REPETITION
FANTASTIC VOYAGE
LOVING THE ALIEN
TIME WILL CRAWL (MM remix)
HANG ON TO YOURSELF (live, LA 20th October 1972)
A few surprises to be sure, but what are your fave dozen Bowie tracks?
Hey,
ReplyDeleteI posted on my favorite Bowie albums a while back if you want to check it out...named some fav tracks as well. I actually love his selections here with the real mind-blower being "Time Will Crawl", a track I have been championing for years that had the misfortune to land on one of his worst albums...hope this means he will bring this forgotten jewel back to life one day live...
Hi Jeremy,
ReplyDeleteyep, can remember your excellent Bowie post and fellow Bowie fans should head on over to your Moon In The Gutter blog (you can find the link in my Blogs section. Time Will Crawl is certainly a worthy inclusion by the great man, and it was a nice surprise to find this CD in Sunday's paper.
Great concept for a CD and to think it came with a Sunday paper. Nothing like that here in the States, that I know of! Is this a continuing series?
ReplyDeleteHi Ned,
ReplyDeleteWe've been lucky enough to get tons of freebies in various UK newspapers. DVDs such as Metropolis, Sympathy For The Devil, Viridiana and La Dolce Vita, and CDs from the likes of Bowie and Prince. These giveaways often don't form any pattern so it pays to keep our eyes peeled. Thanks for stopping by, Ned. Good to see you on here.
