A POLL FOR THESE TROUBLED TIMES

Just wondered how the current climate is affecting individual buying patterns, with regard to DVDs? With soaring utility bills, rising unemployment and sundry examples of recession, many of our leisure pursuits may have to go on the back burner for a while. At the moment, the delights of Blu-Ray will have to wait a while as far as I'm concerned and SD product (currently offering some v-e-r-y tasty new releases) is also not on the agenda. I'll be pleased if you can all find time to vote in my new poll, and record just where you stand with regard to any changes in your buying habits.

  1. I just voted. I've been having some problems at my job this last year. We've got a new boss. Our hours and pay got cut. The problems with the economy sure aren't helping things. I'm trying to cut back on my spending. There are plenty of things I want to buy, but I'm trying to be more cautious with my purchases.

  2. Sorry to hear about that, Keith. We're hard pushed paying bills at the moment, so DVDs are an obvious item to cut down on. I'm just pleased we have an excellent rental firm over here so we can at least view a percentage of new releases.

  3. Same boat as everyone in everyone else with this one-

though I do intend to build my shameless films 20, I dont buy much else- currently on shameless 13.

But I am falling behind with this too - 1 title behind and there are 3 titles out on 25th of the month.

Especially difficult is that Shameless are releasing Strip Nude For Your Killer - I already have that but would have to double dip to keep the set up to date.

  4. Most of the DVDs I'm getting right now are rentals from Netflix. I'm keeping up on watching movies. I just don't have the extra money to really buy much right now.

  5. I feel guilty for not supporting Shameless, Nigel, as they are doing sterling work. Hope you manage to keep up to date with the lions share of their releases, though 3 at the end of this month is a big ask. Cheers for stopping by.Anyone reading this should certainly check out Nigel's blog I Spit On Your Taste. you'll find the link on my list of fave blogs
